IBM Provides Emerging Technologies To Universities

While we’re on a scholastic note, we might mention that IBM has just launched a new program providing students and faculty at accredited universities around the world with access to a range of emerging technologies developed in IBM Research labs --  free of charge. Harvard and MIT will be the first to participate in this program.

Technologies offered through this program include tools that will help developers create applications that are accessible to the visually impaired, games and simulations to teach Java skills, and tools to enable Grid computing. In return, faculty and students will provide IBM with feedback and recommendations on how to improve these technologies before inclusion in future IBM products.

The emerging technologies will be made available through IBM's alphaWorks site http://www.alphaworks.ibm.com with specific list of the technologies at www.alphaworks.ibm.com/academic.
