On February 13, many
Industry Insiders will once again gather in Scottsdale, Arizona to
enjoy seeing each other – and Chris Shipley’s selection of the
best new industry hardware and software – at DEMO.
This is a special DEMO, because it’s the 15th
anniversary (conferences rarely last this long).
Chris says at this DEMO
you’ll be able to see that the promise of convergence will
finally have arrived and that home automation will put Joe and
Jane Doe in control and in their digital living room.
I confess I go to DEMO
more for the Enterprise software – Chris always manages to find
a half dozen things (she’s showing 80 products) that I’ve
never heard about. And
at least half of them are dazzling.
I always have a wonderful time.
This is a tough audience.
Everyone is jaded beyond belief and yet they are very
sensitive to new entrepreneurs (many of them remember what it’s
like) and entirely able to wildly applaud when they see something
(the Palm Pilot, for example) that sweeps them off their feet.
So this is our Valentine
to Chris – and the industry pioneers she’s honoring at a
dinner on February 15th.
