Letters To The Editor – Apple iPOD

My friend and colleague, former IBM Vice president and current consultant, speaker, and expert on things Internet John Patrick comments on my remarks on the new $99 Apple iPod:

Amy, I enjoyed your "opinions" as usual. With regard to your comment "I don’t understand the notion of it playing songs in random order", I have to say that is one thing I like the most about the iTunes and iPod mini. I am constantly getting new music. A little opera and then some rock, then bluegrass, Mozart, etc. Make for nice variety in listening. You might enjoy a piece I wrote about this.....http://patrickweb.com/itrike

John Patrick

John, your comments were delightful – and instructive.  I’m probably way too structured for that!  Or maybe too controlling.  But, of course, if I’m picking all the music that’s loading on the device, why should I care which song plays next?

Amy

Amy, the magic is that you listen to a song and you rate it immediately so your collection keeps getting better and better. Not like somebody else telling you that if you bought x you will like y. You yourself say, I like this or I don't.
