Amy Wohl has been writing about the industry since she arrived at DataPro in 1974 via paper newsletters, electronic newsletters, and blogs (she was an early blogger, assisted into the blogosphere by some of her blogging friends, who noticed her lurking and took a few hours to help her create her own blog and figure out how to do posting --- before the niceties of elegant WYSIWYG editors and no need to know HTML).
Is a blog about many parts of the computer industry, but particularly about business software and the business of software – strategies, the competition, business models, and changes in the marketplace brought about by new technology, new entrants, and new products.
Is a blog about Software as a Service (SaaS). Wohl has been covering software from the Cloud since the beginning of the ASP market in the late nineties and wrote a blog on the SaaS market for IBM’s PartnerWorld site in 2005 and this blog is a continuation of that effort. The blog covers the business of SaaS, from what is required for success to who is doing something interesting in new or newly tweaked software. Wohl talks to numerous SaaS providers every week – the hard part is picking which ones to write about.
Is a hobby blog about cooking, eating, and what to do with a library of 5,000+ cookbooks.

We’ve been working on a report on the Changing Office Marketplace – you might think of it as Microsoft Office versus Web 2.0. We’ve interviewed quite a few vendors, collected a lot of information, and are in the midst of transforming a blizzard of info into some facts and an opinion – and maybe a few predictions. We’ll offer you a free summary and a chance to buy a copy soon.
We’re putting a selection of our old newsletter articles on line in a searchable archive. Your opinion counts here. Send a note to
