Charles C. Brett

Charles Brett is President of C3B Consulting Limited and President of the International Advisory Board of MIDDLEWARESPECTRA.

He has been associated with the information systems world for the past 18 years - first with accountants Coopers & Lybrand, then with an applications software house and leading systems consultancy, before joining the international PA Consulting Group in 1985. He worked for PA in both the U.K., South Africa and U.S.A. (in California) in both the Office and then Finance sectors before founding C3B Consulting Ltd.

C3B Consulting offers consultancy and support in the successful application of distributed processing. Founded in 1988 it offers its services worldwide, but focuses primarily on North American and European clients. The Company's philosophy is to invest a minimum of 25% in research and development in order to provide quality information and support in the delivery of middleware, distributed systems and business common sense applied to the systems world.

In addition, Mr. Brett is President of the International Advisory Board of Financial MIDDLEWARESPECTRA and MIDDLEWARESPECTRA, the independent quarterlies published by Spectrum Reports about exploiting middleware and related issues.

Mr. Brett is an international speaker and writer. He has been invited to speak across the U.S.A., Europe, Africa and South America on topics as varied as middleware, transaction management, using the Internet for business advantage, etc.. He writes, or has written for, not only MIDDLEWARESPECTRA but also for publications like Oracle Magazine, the Open Systems Newsletter, numerous technical journals and - on management issues - for the London Times and the Financial Times. He presented at the Killen & Associates EIBP Conferences in London, San Francisco and Singapore in 2000.

Major clients with whom Mr. Brett has worked or is working include IBM, Commerce One, Sybase/New Era of Networks, Exodus Communications, a major New York investment bank, Swiss Bank Corporation, Credit Suisse, CAP Gemini, the Financial Network Association, IBM, MCI, AT&T, Hewlett Packard, Pacific Bell, Chase Manhattan Bank, National Westminster Bank, TSB, Rank Xerox, Peterborough Software, Telekurs, etc. Recently he has authored two books:
